I have been living in Cambridge for two and a half weeks now and I am really enjoying myself. The work I am concerned with at MSR is great and I spend a high amount of time in the office doing excessive programming and planning next steps. As Microsoft is interested in publishing information about a project not too early I can unfortunately not tell something about my work yet. Nevertheless, I can say that I am working on the Gadgeteer platform.

Cambridge itself surprised me actually a bit. I expected to find a typical English town however it is much more modern than other places I visited so far. It is growing fast hosting many huge companies which are all related to technology. These companies range from IT to Biology and Chemistry. As a result, it is not really surprising that here is a high concentration of post-docs, post graduates and other professionals. So far, I mainly spent time with town stuff, drinking coffee:-) and visiting different places in town and London. At some point I will definitely go out for some geocaching and walking along the Cam. A trip up to Stonehenge would also be nice.
