WP7 Development

Today, I started to deal with windows phone 7 programming and I am extremely impressed again about the functionality Microsoft’s Visual Studio provide. The usage of XAML (an XML based language to specify UI layouts) lets build prototypes really fast and the combination of Visual Studio for programming and Expression Studio for designing is great. Moreover, I just love to program C# ;-)
Nevertheless, the I miss classes for socket based peer to peer communication or bluetooth connections which does not exist yet. It simply reduces the opportunity to communicate with nearby devices. A game played on a public display or communication with other hardware is therefore hard to design as web services are not completely suitable for such scenarios. Nevertheless, I found an interesting article describing a communication via USB for windows phones. I have definitely to try this out at some time.
